I'M BAAAAAAAACK

Well its been a while to say the least. But I finally got up off my ass to start posting again on my blog. Lots has happened since my last post most of which is too boring to put up here. Down to the important stuff; Gaming!

Since I was talking to you last I have started 2 new armies in 40k and started a new gaming system as well.

The new armies are Blood Angels (Who dosen't love Superhuman space vampires) and IA7 Chaos Renegades which I am building for NWG2012. I am also attending King-Con and have to finish off painting some chaos marine stuff for it (2 Termis and my Land-Raider) so the next year or so is going to be VERY busy. I will put up the armies as they stand soon so you can see how the look and I will keep you up to date with my progress on each.

The other system I have started is Force on Force. This is a gaming systen based on real life armies from various stages of history from WWII to Vietnam to Modern day. The models we use are 1:72 scale or 20mm. So far I have a 100% record having won both starter games with my friend Greg :) he has given me some of the plastic models he doesnt want and I had some modern germans that I will add to them to make a decent sized force. (more stuff I have to paint) after I will buy some Revell 1:72 vehicles to round it off.

In other news I am pleased to announce that my 8 year old son is now hooked on playing the computer game Dawn of War and he is now collecting a 40k army of his own (Ultramarine Space Marines). To help him out I gave him by space marine stuff and Santa brought him the AoBR box set for Xmas. As part of his presents this year he is looking for the SM Batallion box which I am sure SC will have no problem in bringing.

Till next time

Forward Planning

Between my current financial situation, the weather and the fact that my daughter seems to have given up on gaming. It has been a very quiet time on the gaming front. I got a new DVD-ROM Drive for my birthday which has allowed me to rediscover the joys of some older games (Baldur's Gate II & Rise of Nations) But I have been rather lax when it comes to my modeling. So I have decided that December is going to be painting Month. I have only a few Models left unpainted in my 40k chaos army so I plan on getting as many of those done before xmas as possible. The current list stands as follows:

8 Noise marines (4 complete, 4 85% complete)
9 Thousand Sons (1 complete, 1 85% complete, 7 50% complete)
5 Plague Bearers (1 complete, 4 sprayed)

The problem is that I have recently read Chapters Due (A Really Excellent Book) and it has bitten me with the Iron Warrior Bug again so I am seriously considering repainting my Chaos Land-Raider and 1 of my rhinos in Iron Warrior Colors (As per the predator in a previous article) The decision is do I paint them before, after or during the other models?

I am thinking "after" as its too cold to spray models.

So hopefully I will have a few photos up soon of my completed units for your viewing pleasure.

Next Month

I know this month was a bit quiet on the blogging front but I hope to turn that around next month. There seems to have been a slight F*** up some where as the second set of step by step photos for the predator and all the step by step photos for the razorgor seem to have disappeared into the under-verse. So unfortunately you will have to be satisfied with photos of the finished products while I give you a written step by step guide of how I painted them. I will also have part 2 of the three way chaos battle for you. My first scenery post will be forthcoming as I lead you through how to make a beastman Herdstone for your table top. I also hope to have an interview with Irish 40k ETC Captain Paul Quigley. Finally with all thing being equal I hope to have some more photos of the latest painted additions to my WHFB Beastman army and hopefully their first battle report under the new 8th edition WHFB Rules.

Till the next time

Sorry its been so long since I've put up an article its just that I've been really busy IRL. Between the visit of my nephew and a job interview and the preperation of the house/garden for the visit of one of my wifes friends from Sweden. It has been a mad week. This month you will get part 2 of the chaos predator article, a similar article for WHFB, a look at my new Bloodbowl team, an interview with Black Library Author Graham McNeill and much much more.
